Like a good majority of the world, look back to earn a degree in nursing. I have 40 years of age with two young children (5 and 3) and want to be flexible. Online Nursing Courses frowned upon? Obviously, there are some that require on-site training, but for those who are not, is that the best approach? There are reputable online programs that are accredited? It would be frowned upon, so to speak. Unless the paramedic or LPN would not go to school online RN. This is, in my opinion, are not as good as going to school regularly. You do not have the opportunity to practice their skills both and I do not know how to enable the clinician invalualble in nursing school. It also does not interact with faculty and staff in a typical school. When I taught my students at the NPL have always been questions about "what if." Sometimes I try and I have no answer. If your seriously considering nursing school, take your prereqs online to help you now, when you have finished your children a little older and maybe in school, and you can attend classes during the day. When I informed LPN school, and many of my students were single mothers with young children, one of the students had a child in the middle of the semester. It's hard for them to work, school and family life, but can be done. I think it would be better in a conventional program. EDIT: At my school for my nursing classes, I can not get when I go, even if they are during the day now. My consultant told me that his needs for next fall, as I clean all day Thursday and Friday because I do not know if my schedule Clinicals, plus I have to go to the hospital on Wednesday to take my patient files and all research on every drug they have in and conditioning, and write 10 pages care plans. So on Monday and Wednesday I have class, I'm not sure where else I feel free on Tuesdays this fall.
